Once a year, the landscapes transform, and a pleasant fragrance fills the air… Lavender, the star of Provence, makes its appearance!

The Lavender Museum in Coustellet, in Provence, is the ideal place to become an expert on lavender, its varieties, cultivation, and utilization, among other things.

You can complement this visit with a detour to the Château de la Gabelle. Located in Saint Rémy de Provence, the estate of the castle, certified organic, is mainly cultivated with lavender and lavandin. During the flowering season, the landscapes are breathtaking and worth a little walk.

On the other hand, the “wellness” products made on site are to be recommended with your eyes closed. Don’t miss a visit to the estate store.

Celebrating lavender in Provence🎉

Eventually, two major events are organized in Vaucluse and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence during the summer. The Lavender Festival in Apt, traditionally organized in mid-July during the Lavandin harvest, and the prestigious Lavender Festival in Valensole, organized this year on July 21.

These two festivals are a great opportunity to meet local producers and artisans and participate in events deeply rooted in regional culture!
